Search a Phone Number and Find the Owner Fast!

There are many reasons why you will need to search a phone number and these can include needing to find a delivery address as the client has only left a number, it could be that you're also getting prank calls or even worse you may need to find that number as you are suspicious about your spouses fidelity!

How to do a number search?

Landline number search.

This varies according to whether you're looking for a landline number or a cell phone number. If its a landline number then the first thing would be to lookup the White Pages. If you can't find it then try directory enquiries. If you can't get the number because it's not listed then you will have to follow some of the steps that I am recommending to find a cell phone number.

Cell phone number search.

This is a bit more complicated as cell phone service providers to not make the numbers publicly available so you have to be a bit more 'devious' to find out the details!

Step #1Put the number in to your search engine with area code and double quotes i.e. "xxxxxxxxx". In about 30% of times the number will come up as people put in their cell numbers on websites, blogs and the search engines pick up a reference to this number and present the number to you. Unfortunately you may only get the number and a website but not the information you require. All this takes time - sometimes a lot of it and time is money - right?

Step #2Get a private detective to do a search. This can be the most costly method. However some agencies won't charge a fee if the number can't be found. But seriously there's an easier and cheaper way to do this!

Step #3Use a reverse cell phone directory. These are online databases that will allow you to do a search for the number you need. These directories will enable you to search landline and cell phone numbers. They involve a small fee but considering the time and expense that you are saved in searching are well worth it.You should only use those which allow you to initially search a phone number to establish that the number you're after is in their database. This again saves you time and money. When the number is there you request a report and you will have details such as the registered owner, the cellular service provider and the owners address. To find out the owner of the number try out this Reverse Cell Directory!
